Dr. Janine Elizabeth Negron PT, DPT is owner and founder of Janine Elizabeth’s Academy of Dance, mother of two, and has studied dance for over 25 years. She holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Seton Hall University and a BFA in Dance Education from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. She is a NJ State Certified Dance Instructor and Board Certified Physical Therapist. Additionally, she is a Member of the National Dance Education Organization, International Association for Dance Medicine and Sciences, and the American Physical Therapy Association. She has been teaching dance and managing Summer Dance Intensive programs for over 10 years. She has an extensive knowledge in anatomical alignment and injury prevention and implements this knowledge into every dance class and certification program she teaches making her classes unique and her students and teachers knowledgeable.
Janine’s choreography has appeared in many productions and show cases throughout the tri-state area including New York, New Jersey, and Philadelphia. She has choreographed productions of “Grease”, “Bye, Bye Birdie” and the show case “Day Dream” at the Drake Theater in Philadelphia, PA just to name a few. She has also been writer, director, producer and co-producer of multiple original children’s productions including “Broadway Melodies”, “Pirate Treasure”, “Dreamerella”, “Storywood”, and “Back to the Future Again” meeting rave reviews. Janine has performed in various professional productions including show cases of “Moulin Rouge”, “Chorus Line” and “The Legacy Concert” at the Merriam Theater in Philadelphia. She was a member of New Jersey Music and Dance Company performing in many show cases and venues including the “Ultimate Elvis Tribute Contest and Festival” and well as “UCPAC’s Eightieth Anniversary Gala” at the Union County Performing Arts Center.
Janine takes pride in providing her students and teachers with a high quality education in dance and is devoted to the continued progress and improvement of each and every one of her students. Her passion for the art form is obvious in the manner in which she presents her lessons and she readily passes her love for dance onto all who have the opportunity to learn and work with her.
